In case you didn't know, I'm co-facilitating a "summer camp" event at Martin Middle School here in Austin with kids from the special ed program.
This morning we made pizza. I bought the ingrediants last night (about $11) and we made everything pretty much from scratch. The guys really liked making the dough. They helped with everything, including the sauce and cutting up the toppings (some of which came from the school garden they helped grow). Fortunately, we got the classroom with an oven, so we could do everything right there. I'll tell you what, those pizzas were good! Teachers kept coming in and getting a slice. The kids like to play it cool, but I could tell they really liked it and were proud of what they did. It was a good day.
